MS Swaminathan Research Foundation
The mandate of MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) is to impart a pro-nature, pro-poor and pro-women orientation to a job-led economic growth strategy in rural areas through harnessing science and technology for environmentally sustainable and socially equitable development.
Botanic Gardens Conservation International
Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) is an international organisation that exists to ensure the world-wide conservation of threatened plants, the continued existence of which are intrinsically linked to global issues including poverty, human well-being and climate change.
CAMBIA is an independent, international non-profit institute. For more than 17 years, CAMBIA has been creating new technologies, tools and paradigms to bring efficiency and equity to life-sciences enabled innovation
Biology - UK University rankings
Ranking of the top UK universities for study of Biological Sciences.
Origins of Crop Plants
Lecture course on "The origins of agriculture and the domestication of plants", Paul Gepts, Department of Plant Sciences, University of California, Davis.
Plant Expression Database (PLEXdb)
PLEXdb (Plant Expression Database) is a unified public resource for gene expression for plants and plant pathogens, and serves as a bridge to integrate new and rapidly expanding gene expression profile data sets with traditional structural genomics and phenotypic data.
Phytocomp - new computing tools for plant science: Stephen McKenna, Glyn Bengough, Tracy Valentine, Jim Haseloff, Lionel Dupuy, Fraser Bransby. We are developing a series of computational and modelling tools for use in plant science research, with particular emphasis on image analysis.
Chromatin, Inc. develops and markets novel proprietary technology that enables entire chromosomes to be designed and incorporated into plant cells. These mini-chromosomes can be used in any plant to simultaneously introduce multiple genes while maintaining precise control of gene expression.
Ceres develops & markets low-carbon, non-food crops for next-generation biofuels and biopower. Our energy crops can provide more fuel, new opportunities for farmers and a cleaner environment for us all.
PlantGDB is an NSF-funded project to develop plant species-specific EST and GSS databases, to provide web-accessible tools and inter-species query capabilities, and to provide genome browsing and annotation capabilities.
Phytozome: a tool for green plant comparative genomics. Phytozome is a joint project of the Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute and the Center for Integrative Genomics to facilitate comparative genomic studies amongst >20 species of green plants. Clusters of orthologous and paralogous genes that represent the modern descendents of ancestral gene sets are constructed at key phylogenetic nodes.
PLAZA is an access point for plant comparative genomics centralizing genomic data produced by different genome sequencing initiatives. It integrates plant sequence data and comparative genomics methods and provides an online platform to perform evolutionary analyses and data mining within the green plant lineage (Viridiplantae).
GreenPhylDB is a web resource for plant comparative and functional genomics. GreenPhylDB v2.0 comprises a collection of full genomes from the major phylum of plant evolution. Clustering of these genomes was performed to define a consistent and extensive set of homeomorphic plant families. Based on this, lists of gene families such as plant or species specific families and aseveral tools are provided to faciltate comparative genomics within plant genomes.
An online community of window farmers developing techniques for at growing food at small scale. They call it R&D-I-Y, or Research & Develop It Yourself, and use this site to collaborate on evolving designs for vertical hydroponic systems– proposing experiments, testing techniques, and developing a shared knowledge base around the many variables involved in building and maintaining a farm inside a city apartment.

Genome Databases: Central repositories, genome browsers and databases that collate and display information relating to Arabidopsis and other plants genomes.
